Each OC Character applied to the forum is given skillpoints depending on their age. Each skillpoint is then spent in any of the 6 categories ranging from how well they can use a gun/weapon to how well they can hunt down targets or prey.
This is to prevent over powered characters that can hunt, track, shoot, K.O people in fights AND are amazingly fantastically brilliant with animals and beyond measure in smartness.
... You see?
Character SkillPoints:
- 0-10 years - 5 Skillpoints.
- 11-15 years - 10 Skillpoints.
- 16-20 years - 15 Skillpoints.
- 21-30 years - 20 Skillpoints.
- 31-40 years - 25 Skillpoints.
- 40+ years - 30 Skillpoints.
You do not need to use ALL your skillpoints! Maybe if your character is just a farmhand since he was born until the day he dies he never gets past 15-20 skillpoints, so please be reasonable!
Each category is divided into one skill;
- WEAPONRY SKILL:
Weaponry is how good your character can shoot and handle a gun, 5 being able to shoot a moving target in heavy cover from a good distance and 0 being just about able to point the damn thing in the right direction.
- COMBAT SKILL-
How good your character is in hand-to-hand combat, punching and kicking and possibly knifing, that sort of thing.
- TRACKING/HUNTING SKILL-
Tracking a target is a difficult thing so how well can your character scout out an area or locate a target. This is sort of the perception side of the skills, how good is your character at using their senses?
- SURVIVAL SKILLS-
Imagine your character has no food and no water, could they survive? Cowboys used to be up on the hills with their herds for great deals of time alone. Not to mention if your character gets injured, do they even know how to care for themselves before they can reach safety?
- HORSEMANSHIP-
A cowboy is nothing without his horse, how well does your character understand these beasts? 5 being some sort of horse whisperer who knows them like the back of his hand, and 0 being someone who would be able to tell you what a horse is, but if you sat them on one they'd struggle to even understand how to make it go.
- INTELLIGENCE CAPABILITIES-
Your characters smarts. Can they read? Write? do basic math? Are they some sort of genius character? When faced with problems can they figure it out in their heads?
